Percival Porcupine was originally created as a writing assignment during a class on teaching children with developmental needs to write. Everyone else in the class of about thirty graduate students created a human character. I created a porcupine. Percival lived in my head for about twenty years. When the pandemic came along and I could no longer facilitate the playgroup at the library in person I began to illustrate his stories. With the help of Marcia Gagliardi at Haley’s Publishing, Percival has become a real character sharing his adventures with the world.
